Fast Company Registration in Argentina Today

Argentina has long carried a reputation for heavy bureaucracy, but that image is rapidly changing. Thanks to a wave of deregulation and digital reform led by the Inspección General de Justicia (IGJ), entrepreneurs both local and foreign can now register a company in the country faster than ever before. What once took months of paperwork, notarized signatures, and in-person visits can now often be completed in a matter of days, entirely online.

The SAS: Argentina's Fast-Track Entity

At the center of this transformation is the Sociedad por Acciones Simplificada (SAS), a simplified joint-stock company structure introduced in 2017 and recently reinforced through further digital reforms. The SAS is designed specifically for speed and accessibility. It allows a single founder to establish the company, requires minimal starting capital (often cited as roughly two minimum monthly salaries, around US$650), and can be completed with an electronic signature no notary or physical presence required.

In the City of Buenos Aires, an SAS can be company registration in Argentina  in as little as 24 to 72 hours through the IGJ's digital platform, with provincial registrations sometimes taking a bit longer. Realistically, most founders should plan for the entire process including tax registration to take between two and four weeks from start to finish.

Step-by-Step: How the Process Works

Choose your entity type. While the SRL and SA remain available, the SAS is now the preferred vehicle for fast, foreign-friendly registration, since 100% foreign ownership is permitted with no local partner required.

Reserve a company name. Availability must be verified with the IGJ, and the name must include the "SAS" designation.

Draft the bylaws. These can be signed digitally, using a model incorporation document approved by the public registry to speed things along.

File through the TAD platform. The Trámites a Distancia (Remote Procedures) system allows the entire incorporation to be submitted online, including for shareholders based outside Argentina, provided a power of attorney is in place.

Obtain your CUIT. Once the IGJ approves incorporation, the company must register with ARCA (the renamed AFIP) to receive its Tax Identification Number, typically issued within 24 hours of applying.

Open a corporate bank account. Banks will require the incorporation certificate and CUIT before activating an account in pesos or US dollars.

Why the Rush Toward Faster Registration?

Company Formation push for speed reflects a broader economic strategy. Argentina is trying to position itself as an attractive hub for foreign investment, particularly in technology, agriculture, energy, and the knowledge economy sector. Faster registration reduces the friction that historically discouraged international entrepreneurs, while liberalized currency rules now allow profits and capital to move more freely in and out of the country.

What to Watch Out For

Even with a streamlined incorporation process, new business owners shouldn't assume the hard part is over once the IGJ approves their company. Obtaining an active CUIT is a separate and essential step a business cannot legally invoice without it. Ongoing obligations are also strict: monthly VAT filings, income tax returns, and provincial gross income tax registration all carry firm deadlines and penalties for late submission. For this reason, most successful founders in Argentina treat hiring a local accountant (contador) as a non-negotiable part of doing business, not an optional extra.

The Bottom Line

Argentina's registration process has been transformed from a multi-month ordeal into something that can realistically be finished within weeks and in the case of the SAS entity itself, within days. For entrepreneurs looking for quick market entry into one of Latin America's largest economies, the country's digital-first reforms have made "fast company registration" more than just a marketing phrase it's now an operational reality.
