When cut in a kirigami pattern, the battery could stretch up to 80% without losing its ability to power a wearable pressure sensor .

The health sector, in particular, stands to benefit immensely from this technology. Flexible batteries are enabling a new generation of epidermal electronics that can be worn like a temporary tattoo to monitor vital signs, muscle activity (EMG), and heart activity (ECG) . In a practical demonstration, a fully flexible lithium-ion battery with a polymer and plastic crystal composite electrolyte was successfully used to power both EMG and ECG sensors, confirming its viability for continuous health monitoring applications . By providing a comfortable, unobtrusive, and reliable power source, the flexible battery for wearable is not just powering gadgets; it is powering a revolution in personal and preventative healthcare.
